McDonald’s pulls offensive pit bull ad
The fast food restaurant apologized to dog owners after a local ad offended pit bull owners and after a social media campaign against the ad spread quickly. Those who don’t think McDonald’s did enough are still voicing their opinions on Facebook.Oh hell no. I’m sick of people condemning these poor animals for their owners’ actions. These dogs are loyal, loving, and sweet by nature… the only reason they become vicious is if their owners train them to be. And they often are because physically, they’re ideal for fighting.
And for a company to run a campaign like this, is pretty absurd. It’s almost like they were asking for the controversy. I feel like a lot of companies are doing this nowadays. Using offensive terminology or ideas in their advertising to get people who give a shit all riled up for more exposure.
Reminds me of that Cesar Milan quote that goes along the lines of “In the 70’s they blamed the Doberman, in the 80’s they blamed the German Shepard, in the 90’s the blamed the Rottweiler, and in the 00’s they blamed the Pit Bull. When are they going to blame the owners?”
