Nearly $1,000,000,000,000.
Or you could have given every man, woman and child nearly $6,000 and told them to go fucking nuts with it. $6,000 worth of Lincoln Logs could have made a lot of manufacturing jobs.
I tried to look for more information about all the sources involved with this, but is there any indication that the estimates used in January 2009 were accurate?
Saying that the stimulus has had a negative effect on unemployment, and using this graph as evidence, assumes that the light blue line is correct. Some predicted 10% “official” unemployment for this year anyways.
Now, that doesn’t mean that I’m supporting the stimulus or saying it was the right action to take. But, I don’t feel that this graph is enough to point out it’s failure.
