Best story ever.
Last night I met someone who told me her favorite CollegeHumor video was Settlers of Catan: McDonald’s Edition - a video that I produced (also written by Jeff and directed by Matt). Not only that, she said she started playing Catan because of the video and and the learning process was easy because she knew the some of the rules already (specifically about the robber).
As a nerd and a producer I can’t really think of anything better than someone telling me “I started playing Catan because of your video.”
Played my first game of Catan on New Year’s Day this Year (thanks Lori!) and have since become a huge fan. It’s my favorite board game (and iPad game!) now, and my go-to present for family members and friends I want to be able to go over and play with at their place.
Great video. I even learned an alternate way to play the robber rule (half, rounded down; when I’ve played lose 4 resources).
Played my first games of settlers with baffledinbrooklyn, middlemanagementlivingthedream, and amillionelephants this year. All stand-up guys btw.
